which phone to buy droid x or samsung fasinate which is better
"Better" is objective, it's a matter of reputation with your preferred manufacturer.

Motorola in particular has a very durable physical body, which does add some weight and mass to the phone, but you can rest assured knowing if you dropped it out ...

I like my Droid X.
Here I would like to add that before purchasing any used mobile you must check a survey report for smartphone's price . In my opinion http://movaluate.com is the best to check any smartphone current market value .

Gingerbread 2.3.3 pushed to Droid X

Just had 2.3.3 installed to my Droid X that I've had for almost a year. Looking for other comments. My limited time on it so far is mixed. Nice idea to keep the principal call buttons active on the bottom line of each screen, but I was surprised that it wiped my speed dial pre-sets and some account uid/pw info. Does anyone know what else to look for that might need some tweaking?

Just got Droid X, some questions...

- What is "Sleep Mode", and when should it be used? (as opposed to completely turning off)

- Is there a way to add a pause, followed by your 4-digit pin, to your voicemail preset? This was possible in all my previous non-Android phones, and I find it hard to believe this would not be an option in Android.

- I'm happy with Android 2.3, and wondering if Launcher Pro really improves the experience a lot. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it (but am always open to advice/suggestions)...

- I upgraded from the LG Ally, and one of the things I liked about that phone was it came with a full-screen calendar widget. Does the Droid X have this, and if not, can I download one from the market? What calendar is the best?

- I just ...

Droid X root

So i just got the X, came from the D1. It took me a while to get used to the full touch keyboard, and there aren't near as many roms, but all and all I think it is a good device.

My question is, what are some of the better roms? Ive tried Liberty already, and Darkslide is my next one I want to try.

It says at least need to be on 2.3.32 to install. What does this mean and where do I see if I'm on it or not? and what are the benefits of it?
try out apex it has a couple of diffrent skins i like revolution best tho it has a clean all back look to it check droidx forums or android central for support on it now in terms of 2.2.3
thats the kernel version its no biggie unless uve been rooted ...

Also is there anyway to make my phone a mobile hotspot without having to pay verizon an xtra 15$(i think) a month without having to do anything to difficult. Dont want to do anything that will come close to bricking my phone. Thanks for all the feedback
Easiest, non-rooting tether app is PDANet. You'll need an app on your laptop and phone. Then you can share your internet connection over USB or Bluetooth.

i work at sprint and recently came across a buyback phone that was a droid x, so i was going to purchase it myself, but when i did a master reset on it, everything went through

except: the reboot is stuck at 100% and it reads "100% 00:00:07/00:00:00" and when i click on the search key it says "performing 'wipe data' clear...
Formatting DATA:..."

and it stays stuck at that.

4G question?

I'm eligable for an upgrade soon. Verizon offered me an early upgrade to iphone. Theres not enough difference between my fasconate and I phone to bother with it. So I'm waiting because I'm really eligable this June. I'm going they will have 4g and more to the point 4g in my area.

So my question is, will the droid x be 4g compatable? My husband has one. I would upgrade to it if it's capable of doing 4g access.

Thanks,
Jo
I'm not anything close to an expert but I'm pretty sure that all current 3G phones are not LTE compatible. I wish it were as I also have an X.

When I was talking with Verizon data tech (level II) support I asked them if the Droid X phone was 4G LTE compatible and they told me that NO phone available on the network is 4G LTE compatible. Sad but true you will need to buy a new phone. The onl...

Gallery not loading.

Hey fellow Droid X users. I recently noticed a problem with my Droid X. When I go to my apps drawer and try to look at my gallery by obviously tapping the gallery icon my Droid X tries to load it but then backs up to the apps drawer and then to my home screen. Does anyone else have this problem. I noticed the problem after I downloaded the last software update not too long ago. I am also using LauncherPro Plus but have uninstalled it and reinstalled it to see if that was the problem and it wasn't. I need help! I don't want to have to take it into Verizon. Any info is greatly appreciated.
I have an issue with accessing my gallery from the app drawer ever since the update as well. The only way I can access it is to pull up my camera and get to the gallery that way.

3G issue

Forgive me if already addressed (couldn't find anything via search). I have set my Preferred Network Type to WCDMA only (via *#*#4636#*#*) and my Droid X keeps switching back to CDMA auto (PRL) or it will be set to WCDMA and still connect to 1x. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong??? Getting frustrated.

My workplace has extenders, which do not work for data, but I'm trying to force 3G only so that it does not switch as often. Kills my media streaming and battery life. TIA

Does Anyone Know?

Hello,

Yesterday I received a prompt from VZW network that the new Android v2.3 upgrade was available. Installed as I did with others and been running for about a day.

My question is this. Does anyone know or have a link to what ENHANCEMENTS & FIXES are part of this release?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello, I am new to the android market. I am coming from a BlackBerry Storm2 and one of the most helpful features I am missing on this phone is the ability to list my contacts by last name. Anyone know how to do this or an app to download that will allow it? I have looked and haven't located one yet. Any help is appreciated! Thx...
