added value...

all people on here are saying is that they feel cheated having to pay extra to compensate for poor service, but nobody has mentioned the unlimited calling. You could get the 39.99 450 powerpack plan and pay the 10.00 and you have yourself a 59.99 unlimited plan. Granted that is only when you are in range of your airrave, but I think that is well worth the 100.00 and the 10.00 per month if you break it down.
First of all. If you knew basic math, $39.99 + $10 is $49.99. And no, this is not an unlimited plan. This is an unlimited calling from home plan, which you can get for free on VOIP anyway. I use VoipStunt when i'm at home and can't complain. Unli...

Ripoff

This 4.99 thing is a ripoff. You're paying for the internet. You're also paying for Sprint's Cell service. $10-$20 for unlimited is pretty reasonable since most VOIP services charge around the same, however, charging you to use minutes that you're already paying for is wrong. If Sprint doesn't have service at your home, you probably shouldn't be using the service in the first place(Which is why they have a 30 day buyer's remorse to try it out).

If i was Sprint, i would give an additional minute allotment for the $4.99 while roaming off this device. It might not be too many minutes, but atleast i won't feel like i'm being ripped off on an already outrageous bill.

To me, this is another way of Sprint saying "feed me", because they'r...

you know that Sprint is not the only carrier that is putting this out on the market. Verizon is also comin out with one in the next few months. And they too will most likely be charging more because the BIG RED always does. If you move to the big r...

Insane Cost

So to make up for Sprint's lack of coverage or existing holes in their coverage (of which my house is built in), Sprint wants me to double my monthly cost?

How about a one time fee of $50. There's no need for a subscription for an antenna.

I guess I'll be sticking with my very awesome $15/month Vonage service. I just wish people would remember to call that first instead of my cell.
I think one thing that needs to be considered is that no cell phone company says that your phone will work indoors or around very large buildings. If Sprint doesn't work in your house, it's not really because of their service more than it is about the...

Hmm, so your monthly cost is $5, because it's obviously weird to understand how that could be.

As far as the subscription price, why not pay the $5 a month price and have good service in your house instead of having to go outside and use your phone...

Here's a thought. If you're a dissatisfied Sprint customer then call up their customer service and let them know why. Let them know what you'd be agreeable to.

I have for years not been 100% satisfied with Sprint's service (or lack of) both in my h...

I pay Sprint $5/month?

Ok, let me get this straight. I buy a piece of equipment and attach it to my internet connection so that my cell phone works better. Sprint gets the benefit of my not trying up their expensive spectrum and for this privilege I now have to pay Sprint an additional $5/month AND the minutes still count against plan unless I pay another fee?

This is the kind of thinking that is driving Sprint out of business. Anyone want to bet how long until they are bankrupt or acquired? I say Verizon acquires Sprint within 2 years.
You're still tying up Sprint's spectrum. How else would it work with any current Sprint phone?? I could see Sprint giving these things away and comping the monthly fee to save customers whose only complain is poor service at home. It wouldn't make sen...

I actually think this keeps Sprint in business because it allows people to keep service in locations that would otherwise not have service. Just think about having great service in locations that would not normally have service or have limited servic...

Ordering Airave, can't be done.

Well I tried to order it.
1. I called several stores in Jacksonville, FL (both Sprint owned and partner owned) they said call sprint. 40 minutes.
2. I called *2 on my cell, they said call the stores. 35 minutes.
3. I chatted with a representative, she said call 1800sprint1. 25 minutes.
4. I called Telesales at 1-800-Sprint1 they said we can transfer you to technical support. 20 minutes
5. I have given up. Sprint If you read this, I chatted with Shentelle (started at 4:45:18 PM EDT) and Dominica (started 4:21:47 PM EDT) today, you should be able to track me down based on this info and make me an offer to retain me as a customer.
Oh yeah Sprints web page says it is available in my area, as did the "customer service" rep.

not paying another 100buk on junk and another 5buk a month!
Your cell phone is not guarenteed to work inside or around tall buildings by any cell phone company. It's a mobile phone to be used on the go. I think we forget that. If you want a dedicated phone at home get a land line...

Qchat?

will the Airave work with Qchat DC calls? or will it just work for Voice?
Kenny -

The Airave only supports 1xRTT and Qchat requires EVDO Rev A which leaves this unfortuantely not possible.

From thier FAQ:

Does AIRAVE support Sprint Mobile Broadband (EVDO)?

AIRAVE does not currently support Sprint Mobile Broadb...
