Why companies complain...

One real reason Is

the cable and phone companies still want you to buy DSL and cable internet, ect. at very expensive prices. I feel sorry if you live in a rual area.
I don't. Sorry I feel that way, but I do. Because in the end, we would end up being taxed or fee'd to give them subsidized broadband.
...
Even if they roll out some sort of great free broadband network I would still rather pay per month to get more bandwidth, privacy (because there are privacy issues that will be brought about because of this) and quality of connection.

Communism...

The government wants to give "POOR PEOPLE" free high speed Internet, so they can have the same quality of life as people who have a job and work for a living... the tax payers will not only be paying for Lafonda's 4 kids (from 3 different daddy's) to use her welfare for satellite TV but we will also now be paying for her kids to surf the web... One Point that hasn't been brought up...

If you don't have money to get internet, then you probably don't have a computer. If you have a computer, then you can at least afford 5-10 bucks a month for dial-up... 🙄
I was thinking the same thing.

Audacious considering these same companies are players in the 200 Billion Broadband Scandal

The case is simple: Do you have a 45 Mbps, bi-directional service to your home, paying around $40? Do you have 500+ channels and can choose any competitive service? You paid an estimated $2000 for this product even though you did not receive it and it may never be available. Do you want your money back and the companies held accountable?

Background: Starting in the early 1990's, the Clinton-Gore Administration had aggressive plans to create the "National Infrastructure Initiative" to rewire ALL of America with fiber optic wiring, replacing the 100 year old copper wire. The Bell companies SBC, Verizon, BellSouth and Qwest, claimed that they would step up to the plate and rewire homes, schools, libraries, government agencies, busines...

Why am I not surprised. Although I do not agree with many of your posts, this one is right on.
Wow, even though i usually don't like to talk about corporate greed, this is just wrong.

I always wondered why we don't have the internet speeds that you can get in Japan, South Korea and in Europe. I always figured that the companies were holdi...
