Heres what I see happening.

AT&T will deny knowing anything about it (if they really did at all), strip said companies license and call it a day. 😛

Why both?

Since AT&T is named as a defendant, I'm assuming that this was done in AT&T stores. But why is Nokia being sued too? Is there evidence that it was also complicit in this scheme? It's pretty easy for a phone to be returned and then repackaged as something new for another customer without the manufacturer ever being aware of it. Unless this was ONLY being done with Nokia phones...then I can understand.
This was actually done at an Indirect dealer called CommClub if you read the article at the attached link, not an AT&T corporate store. So I don't see how AT&T or Nokia could be at fault.
