Apple iPhone Gets Full Microsoft Exchange Support
well that's a start...
🙄
Earlier this year the CEO of AT&T said there will be a 3G iphone, probably Version 2.0.
Gosh Apple sure is a super, super controlling company, yikes! ! !
All you have to do is convert the file extenison from .mp4 to .mpr and there you go, your own free ringtone.
I think they think they already have a winner. Lots of people are buying them, so I'm guessing they don't see much of a need to open up everything. Especially anything beyond the whole SDK release.
And sure, you can also claim that Apple is going to (slowly) release updates that will add these features where possible.
I really really want to love the iPhone - its user interface is absolutely amazing - but Apple deliberately gimped it. It is missing too many features that I rely on for it to be a useful device for me.
Who knows, maybe Jobs gimped it because he didn't want to sell 10 million units. Maybe he knew that production wouldn't be able to keep up or something, so ...

If you reason for not liking the iPhone is because you don't have the privilege of paying 25cents for MMS messaging or because it can't run a bunch of slow, clunky java applications, and that outweighs the fact you've got the most powerful mobile computing platform in the world on cutting edge hardware, I highly doubt Apple regrets not following your guidance.
It's got one nice feature - and I admit that it's a fabulous feature - and that's the user interface. Hands down best user interface ever put on a phone. Truely, honestly, absolutely amazing.
But give me that interface on a real phone, not some hobbled mid-level $400 POS. The iPhone isn't cutting edge hardware... unless you have a time machine and you're living in 2003.
BTW - I have unlimited messaging, so MMS are free for me. You can't even receive them if someone wants to send you one. And Java apps run very smoothly... in the EMULATOR on my phone. When I run them native they're even faster.
So... sorry, but that wasn't even a nice try.
Because it can't "emulate" Java?" What are you, one of the losers still stuck on Sprint?
You have yet to conceed that the iPhone has any faults at all. You also have yet to conceed that any other phone might possibly have any good features. That's pretty much the definition of a fanboi.
The iPhone is limited to EDGE. That's not cutting edge, that's old news. Hell, Sprint's yapping about 4G already (even though they're lying because 4G isn't even fully defined yet).
8 hours of battery doesn't impress me. Talk to me when you can go a week of heavy use. Talk to m...

1)Aren't the "I read the spec sheet but haven't used an iPhone" faults you've listed
2)Pale in comparison to the many, glaring faults of other phones in its price range, which include things such as a crummy web browser (HTC Mogul) , Lack of memory (HTC Mogul) , Unreliability (HTC Mogul) , a terrible interface (HTC Mogul) , and I could go on and on.
And the iPhone is EDGE, but if you knew how EDGE devices were classified, you'd probably know the iPhone is almost 10 times faster than EDGE devices deployed earlier, and at times matches EV-DO for transfer due to its low latency and high burst rates. In addition to this, App...

1) I work with iPhones too, thanks. Every major carrier, every major manufacturer, virtually every model of phone.
2) Unlike you, I'm not trying to tell anyone that any other phone is perfect. You're the one trying to claim the iPhone is teh ubarz!!!@eleven!
3) I know all about EDGE and the iPhone. Sure, it's 10x faster than some EDGE devices, but exactly the same speed as some other EDGE devices.
4) What do you mean by "your Sprint device?" Which of "my Sprint devices" are you talking about? I work with all of them. I also work with all of AT&T's devices, all of T-Mobile's devices, all of Verizon's devices, and all of Alltel's devices. Along with many other smaller carri...
