Instinct S30 Email

I've tried to set up the S30 for my Charter Email. After going through the set up, it brings my emails up. I can read them but cannot respond to any nor will any more show up after hitting the refresh button.

If I go into the settings, I can reset the application and start over. the phone doesn't seem to have a memory to keep the email settings. Any thoughts?

Bluetooth and the S30

Before I got the S30, I had a Samsung Eternity. One of the things I liked about the Eternity was that I could not only make calls using bluetooth, but also ANY audio was transmitted to the bluetooth (music, video, navigation, etc.) . It seemed like any bluetooth device I used with it would do this.

When I got the S30, I find that when I sync the bluetooth, all I get on the bluetooth device is voice conversation. All other audio (music, video, navigation, etc.) all go through the speaker.

When I plug in the wired headset, all audio comes throught the headphones. Doing some research, I find that the S30 and the Eternity both are supposed to have identical bluetooth supported profiles.

Is there a setting, hack or some other work-aroun...

Digital Numeric Paging in Visual Voicemail Setup

I do not have this option nor does a user have the option to leave a numeric page when they call into my voicemail to leave a message. When I called a rep at Sprint, he was clueless as well as his resolution rep. Can someone please shed some light. Thanks.

Great...for the money

I posted a review of this phone as well, but I just wanted to say that for the money, I really like this phone. For the past 4 years, I have been with t-mobile and bought 2 or 3 phones per year. On average, I pay about $350 for my phones.

When I switched to sprint, which I couldnt avoid, their SERO plan saves me like $1k a year..literally, I was really concerned that I would have to stick with a crappy selection of phones. After a little research (mainly on this site) I decided to go with the S30. I have to say, for being less than 1/3 of what I normally pay for my phones, it has only slightly less functionality. My biggest complaints about this phone are the poor camera quality (so poor it might as well not even exist) and the sho...

the camera is bad? wow that's suprising since the instinct m800 had such amazing picture quality for a 2.0mp camera (WAY better then my 2.0mp bbery curve camera); funny that they'd downgrade so much. i haven't had a chance to play with the s30 yet.

How about full-disclosure?

Your first review of this device wasn't much more than a complete trainwreck.

You complained about how terrible the touch display was, yet none of you were ever willing to admit that you were in fact using a pre-production device and never calibrated the display? As such, your findings were laughable at best, delusional at worst. There was zero reasoning given why your findings were completely disjoint from virtually ALL OTHER reviews at the time.

And here we are, almost a year later, and you are still peddling the same nonsense about the first Instinct having a "poor touchscreen". It shouldn't really come as a suprise, you also promised you'd retest a Glyde after it came out to see if you had a bad unit - never did.

So how about ...

No, I stand by our original review of the Instinct.

It definitely had a resistive touch screen. It may have had three capacitive touch keys below it, but the touch screen part was resistive. Some touch displays are much better than others, regardle...

What's the difference?

It seems to have similar specs, but it just looks more rounded than the original instinct.

Can you tell me what the differences are? It's not like one is more expensive than the other...

Nice Phone.

Nice phone and good addition for Sprint, just could not figure out why its not EVD0-A, they just provided EVDO-0.
Hopefully they loose the Everything plan requirement so that I can get this phone to keep me company until the Pre drops.

Supposedly Samsung & Sprint will be releasing the 2nd Gen Instinct in Q3 '09. It's been referred to as "The Dash" (not to be confused with T-Mo's/HTC's Dash), and will be an "actual" upgrade from the original. 😎

Honestly, Rev A is primarily an increase in UP speeds so Instinct users won't really be affected. A non-issue, so to speak.
