ohhhh how nice! great news!

this is so awesome. not. i love my iphone, but maybe there should be video, zoom, mms, IM, bluetooth transfer, make any song from your itunes library a ringtone, not just the ones with the stupid icon next to them, etc. this was pointless. thanks steve jobs. keep it up.
hahhahahaa. so angry.

any song a ringtone: I'm sure Steve would LOVE to give you that feature. But the record companies wouldn't. (I don't know why.) I suppose some copyright lawyer out there didn't like the idea of someone taking a clip of a song...

Still EDGE for data transfer??

Moving from EDGE to HSDPA would have been an equally great announcement.

It would've been. But you know... that wouldn't be something that would be covered in the scope of a software update, given th...

Considering

Considering Apple is a computer company that has just released a phone that is a pretty good accomplishment. The only other Computer Company that comes to mind is HP that has made a phone. However when you consider that Apple had to design another OS just for there Phone product then I find that to be good thing. HP used what was already available MS Mobile.

Apple using their own programmers and design team to come up with a whole new OS for their equipment is nothing short of outstanding and should be complimented on an excellent achievement!

The other facet to consider is that the OS is new. Does anybody remember when Windows Mobile came out? There were alot of bugs to work out as well things you couldn't do and things you coul...

Yeah, and it's nice to have a phone that can be updated. I still have quarrels with Apple, but they have a grasp on the market. They out sold Nokia, Palm and Motorola in 90 days percentage wide. The only ones that are doing better are RIM, with a mass...

you really think that phone was all designed internally OS and all? 🤣 🤣 🤣

no no no. there were many developers involved in the design of that phone, it wasnt just apple.

Gee, I just hook my N95 to my computer, the Nokia Suit comes up and I click the upgrade button. And they've been doing that for years.

Also, it doesn't hack the phone back to be locked, install ARM AES/RES hardware lock keys so you can't unlock it...

I am really considering getting a iPhone when my contract is up with Verizon at the end of the month but I need some answers first. I have heard that the iPhone can sync with MS Outlook, is that true (my life revolves around my calendar and contacts)...

1.1.3 updates more than anyone has made an app for. Wait, what app do you have on your iPhone that does a locater using triangulation of cell towers and wifi hotspots?

OMG!

Amazing, now the iphone can text message MULTIPLE people at once. Sounds like its time for Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Alltel to just pack it in!
Funny, I left at&t AND the iPhone and went to Verizon. Very happy there.

haha. only if it were true.

MMS

Dear apple, get it together and add MMS. It makes no sense that a $400.00 phone can't even save a picture sent over MMS.

The weblink view was a temporary solution, you still need to address this issue. Your other option is to put out a patch to Safari to allow us to save images from Safari.

Sincerely,

the husbands of iPhone users of America

Put this in perspective

How many other phones have ever had a firmware update that wasn't a fix for a device issue (ie - the phone is effectively broken without it)? Or a simple rebranding? How many firmware updates have actually expanded the capabilities of a phone? How many companies have committed to supporting a device as thoroughly as computers & software are supported?

In terms of sheer capabilty, the iPhone doesn't do a lot that other phones can't, but it's drastically different from other phones in that Apple isn't treating it like a disposable attention getter while they work on the next 3 generations of the same model. Sure, there are other companies that give out minor firmware updates, and there are 3rd party software providers for ...

Where is my G*D D*MN Exchange Mail?????????

Do you have any idea how many corporate types would fling their Treos or other Windows Mobile devices out the window for an iPhone if it was capable of being hooked up to the company's exchange server? Who gives a rats ass about multiple SMS recipients or GPS location finders..... these are nice little things that might make a difference to some, but man, if I was Apple I'd be burning the midnight oil trying to tap into the business users market. Its the one thing keeping millions of people around the world from even considering buying one.
That, as a matter of fact, is not far off. AT&T is currently running a limited trial of corporate accounts with iPhones. I'm not sure exactly what they're able to, but I do know that there's Exchange & enterprise email support coming. That i...

Best keeps getting better!

We've known about these for awhile, but it's pretty cool how much function has been added to the phone in just 6 months. Heck, even a month from now there'll be 3rd party applications, let the good times roll!
well......

it's a stupendous device, YES. But, Steve is making people drool over things that just "arent' that special". He's prolonging features to make sure that apple stocks rise slowly instead of rise and plummet. That's why "multiple texts" wa...

Gee, thanks steve!

What steve announced today isn't big news, I admit.

But it's still one of the only phones that CAN be changed with an upgrade. So, I'll let it slide.

Steve also announced sliced bread and spam at a lunch convention earlier today.
