I thought so...

I work for telesales and what I do know is that the phone is out of stock. A lot of customers are really calling in to upgrade to that phone. We had it out of stock around christmas. First the white one and after christmas the black one became unavailable as well.
Now as for the news about the glitch, sprint already sent the fix to the customers who were affected. ๐Ÿ™‚
I just bought a rumor last month & have not received any documentation from Sprint on the "glitch." Does that my phone was not or could never be affected? ๐Ÿคจ

Its because of the LG Voyager.

The Rumor is selling well because Sprint users want a phone like the Voyager. Since they can't get the Voyager, the next best thing is the Rumor which also has a qwerty keyboard and is from LG.

its true

I work for Sprint in an affiliate market...

We sold out of the Rumor within 4 days of having them. They've been on back order for about 4 or 5 weeks now. We were told 2nd week of Jan we should start seeing them again.

Also the glitch they speak of was for the "Panic Mode" ...it occured when a series of numbers were pushed at the startup of the phone which would cause the phone to basically wipe itself out. Unfortunately as a result... the phone could not be reprogammed & it would be deemed as useless.

So its true... the phones were not removed from the stores... we simply just ran out.
Yeah this is the part I dont understand. My lady has the White Rumor, the same thing happened to her but she didnt push any buttons, the phone ran outta battery, and when she charged it and turned back on is when it happened. SO i dont believe it 100%...
Just curious as to which affiliate you work for.

Where's the source?

So I where is the link? I says 'from Sprint' but no link on the Sprint (The word). So is there a site to see. I mean I don't mind and I trust it is true I just wanted to know.
I don't think there's a link but they emailed Phonescoop personally. I was over at phonenews.com forums and the guy there said he got an email from Sprint talking about the same thing phonescoop mentioned!

high sales volume

yeah right ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ
actually I work for Sprint in Telesales and every other call I've been getting since the Rumour came out has been for the White Rumour especially, so this is a true statement from Sprint, we actually got down to zero inventory in our warehouses for a ...
Well it was both in this case. There is the fact that there was the the buttons being pressed causing the phone to erase the phone info and that there were alot of people buying them...

Bad Joke

So the whole thing is just a rumor? ๐Ÿ™„
Well we DID have a LOT of sales of the Rumor. Especially in White. So i believe it, as a witness of the Sprint statement. I believe its 100% true!
