Any Thoughts?

I know it won't be, but I hope it really comes close to the iPhone in price. Not to be a "fanboy", but wouldn't it be amazing if we Verizoners got to have the best phone on the best network? I'm not to keen on dropping more than $200 on this device, but I'm pretty sure (I haven't actually played with it yet) that I wouldn't go up to $300.

It will still be nice as a VZW customer to brag about having the best phone out there even if I don't have it.

But what about Sprint? They have their Instinct, which is a sweet phone, but no where near the Storm. But WiMax is coming, and what if Sprint gets something out with WiMax that WILL compete?

I'm conflicted because I love VZW and the Storm is VERY convincing, but I'd be paying hundreds of d...

GPS - Will Verizon Cripple It?

I hope Verizon doesn't cripple the GPS on the Storm (like on the Curve), forcing us to pay for VZ Navigator. I received an email reply from their customer service dept in Sep 2008 about their policy on GPS functionality (on the Curve); please see below.

AT&T does not cripple the built-in GPS (on the 8310 Curve), so Google Maps works well.

AGPS is for VZ Nav
GPS for Google Maps, Blackberry Maps, etc...

What's the point of a Global Phone if your Nav only works in part of the US.

This GPS will be unlocked
...
Verizon Will have both A-GPS and GPS.

So VZ Nav will work as well as Google Maps and Blackberry Maps.

This phone is to have World GPS by Verizon Nav and anyone els who carries it as well. So when you travle the world, you can have step by step t...

Browser Bugs "Achilles Heel"

I read the hands on review, which was well done and thought out. I will be in line to get this phone when it comes out. I am very much looking forward to using the phone as an internet tool. Does anyone know or can keep a thread updating any fixes to this issue going forward? It would be a shame for this one major flaw to ruin what is otherwise a perfect phone to have. Thanks!
I hope it will not be yet another case of great hardware; lousy software...like with the G1 Android phone.

Apple is getting lazy sitting on their butts with a software/hardware platform that is getting long in the tooth, but ironically, still cutti...

One question about the screen...

Is it plastic or glass?
It felt like glass to me.
...
Correct, it is glass. If you go to Verizon's press release, it actually says it is glass. This seems to be a very high quality device.
