Defending Sprint's decision to use only PCS+iDEN
But since purchasing one, and using it in my area, I've discovered they made a very wise decision in so doing.
First, let me say that, no, you aren't going to have the same coverage you get with a standard cellphone, it's going to be similar to what you have on regular Nextel phones.
But what you will get is a phone with better coverage than what Nextel alone could have built out for themselves. For example, if you live in Texas, your voice coverage will be GREATLY enhanced, and such is the case with many other states (i.e. Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi,).

Sucks for roaming. Alltel and VZW use mostly 850 Mhz... so this phone is a no go for me.
