VZW and RIM 8830

Does anyone know the exact release date and price

Will the Pearl come to Verizon next month also...

Does anyone have visibility if this would be release next month as well... my gut says they would have announced it at the same time if it was coming... feedback please
Doubt it.
Pearl is set to come out at the end of summer with Verizon. They don't want Pearl to be competing with this phone. That's what one Business Rep from Verizon told me. She has been right with a few other things previously.

Canadian Users: Telus to launch 8830 inline with Sprint.

Just spoke with a telus rep, the 8830 is coming sooner than many expected. It will be here sometime this summer.
As Telus always does, the sim is locked to telus for your number. ☚ī¸

There are a lot of rumors about this having itune ability. Anyone have a link to an official statement by either RIM, Verizon, or Apple?
No one want to chime in on this one? 🙂 I know there are verizon techs and reps on here. ;)

With the consumer data released today that indicated that only 6% plan to upgrade to the iphone I hope that makes Apple more likely to allow itunes on devi...

Verizon and May 14??

Its says Verizon will offer this phone to business customers May 14. What about regular customers? Why would they only offer it to business customers when they can make more money and sales if it was offeredto everyone.
May 28 🙂
Verizon always releases their "business" phones two weeks earlier to the corporate accounts. I don't mind. They used to now sell their business phones to regular customers. This saves me from having to file for a corporation just to get their good pho...

Just proof that GSM is superior...

Just more proof that CDMA banner wavers VZW and Sprint are caving and accepting the fact that they can't beat GSM, so they gotta join 'em... ;)
any logic to prove this thought?
What the Canuck???? Are you seriously this clueless?????

Vodaphone owns part of VZW, around 45%. Vodaphone has a GSM network as it was the decided path in Europe when it was developed as a digital communication service to replace Analog phones. A...

GPS cripled for Verizon edition????

Google maps and Blackberry maps are great apps on my 8300 hundred series, but really want the full GPS that is on the 8800. However, from what I'm reading they seem to be dropping that feature on the Verizon version which is a same. I just upgraded to the 8703 before i knew the 8800 was coming out on Verizon so quick. it usually takes them a year before they put the new blackberry on their network. ☚ī¸ Love verizon and not changing but sometimes they are very slow to put phones on their network. my one and biggest complaint with them.

So, anyone heard for sure about the GPS on the 8800 version for Verizon?
Verizon's verison of GPS will be available for this phone in June via software update. The phone is already GPS ready.

Verizon and Software?

Just to verify. Will this run the blackberry software or verizon software. Please say blackberry!
With the announcement BlackBerry software is now available for other platforms, it might be possible to run their own software with a BlackBerry interface.
BlackBerry software. Customized for Verizon, of course, but it won't have the whole "Verizon standard UI".

How much will Sprint Charge?

How much will Sprint Charge to use the CDMA network and use there SIM card on GSM networks, or will it be usual roaming charges. Also how much do you think this phone will sell for? That would be freaking sweet if you could use it on any network for your standard contract price and it would automatically switch to the network with the strongest signal.
To be clear, this phone and the Sprint SIM card will not work on domestic GSM networks.

Both are strictly for roaming on overseas GSM 900/1800 networks only.

Sprint plus SIM card equals win.

Three full months behind Verizon, but Sprint gives customers that about-damn-time that everyone's looking for.

About time, Sprint. About time.
Sprint has offered SIM cards with your Sprint phone number for overseas use for many years. It's not new.

I wonder how long you have to wait for this to show up unlocked

But it is the gift that sprint customers have been looking for, and with the full keyboard with features, it makes the black look good for people who use their phone for things other than email.

Way to go Sprint!

In keeping with the traditional black color. I hate the way the silver one looks.
For some reason, silver looks more streamline than black. Maybe b/c of that gray/silver trim piece from Sprint BB.
