Is a folding screen necessary?

I’ve been using smartphone devices for years without the need for a folding screen. If I wanted a bigger screen with mobility, I would have purchased a tablet with mobile data capabilities. Samsung Galaxy Fold

Really wanted this phone but:
-Too fragile
-Too expensive
-No apps designed for fold design yet (except maybe some stock apps)
-Storage not as fast as Note 10

I went with a note 10+. However, I'm sure in time, if the concept catches on, there will be models that will be more reasonably priced with better support. Just don't want to be the beta tester (and pay for it too!). All to be seen.
