Copy Cat Cingular

I am suprised Sprint has not said or done anything about Cingular stealing their ideas. The nextel chirp was the first and now the music store? Way to be original cingular. 🙄
Copy cat? Cingular's music store is quite different from Sprints. Why shouldnt we capitalize on it, if there is a market for it then you can expect everyone to get a hand in on it if no patent is there. Didnt Cingular buy att wireless before Spring...

Nokia build quality

Does anyone else have an issue with the build quality of some Nokia's as of the past couple of years? Specifically the plastics used.

6682 was a good example of a 'higher end' phone I thought could have had tighter build tolerances.

I enjoy Nokia's and hope N75 is a solid phone.

I agree with most of what you said. I had high hopes for the 6682. I'm definitely going to wait for the second or third shipments of the N75's. N95 should be right around the corner. I can't wait for that one!!!

. . . Well, not quite 😉 , but relative to the durability of the majority of consumer electronics, Nokia phones might as well be titanium. My 6682's camera cover is a bit loose after almost a year of constant use (I use my camera a lot) and bein...

I have played and demo'ed the N75 and it's a great device. The quality, to me, seems better then the 6682. The hinge is sturdy. And though it's thin, it still has some weight to it so you don't feel like you have a toy in your hand.

So, I think you...

Samsung A707

Is it just me, or are the specs on this N75 almost identical with the Samsung SGH-a707 (SYNC)?

Nice

I was talking to a nokia rep last week and he said that nokia and Cingular are trying really hard to get this thing out by thanksgiving;-) that would be nice but we'll see.
The phone is cool but looks a little plain for having such good features. Also, as far as getting it by the holidays, I have found that phones that are rushed for release usually have a first batch that is more prone to glitches then the second or thi...

Anyone in Bay area know anything about this?

Howdy. I've been to two Cingular stores in downtown SF, the main one on Market and another one close by, and nobody ever knows anything about their new phones, including this one. I always see people on here writing that there Cingular rep told them this or that, but it seems like either (1) no Cingular rep in SF knows anything about new phones, or (2) for some reason they don't want to tell me.

So does anyone know any of any Cingular store with knowledgeable staff in the Bay area? Thanks.
It's sort of the same where I live. A year ago I asked a Cingular store rep about HSDPA, and she didn't know what I was talking about. She thought I was talking about EDGE. I was kind of surprised.
The thing about 'most' reps in stores is the are rarely with the company long so they aren't seasoned enough to know anything. I know this first hand. Call in for information and ask for an English speaking rep. Your chances of getting somebody who kn...

You may want to check out one of the Nokia Experience Centers. The guides there don't always know everything about phones that haven't been released but overall they are a lot more knowledgeable about phones than a typical wireless store rep. There'...

Raw pwnage

Of course, aesthetics are important, which, to me, the n75 is lacking, although not an ugly phone; it is plain--very plain. Also, I hate it when cameras are mounted on backs of phones; one must hold the phone in a very arkward manner when taking pics with the flip open--like normal camera phones--screwing up many "priceless" pics that would've captured on the 2MP camera. However, it will allow the user to take pictures like a regular camera when flip is closed. Although, this may sound like a negative rant, as the title would lead one to believe, this phone MUST pwn. It has no choice! It's Nokia's first 3G Cingular phone, it must come out with a bang.....but if it doesn't, suffice to say it'll be placed next to my ROKR E1 (I know they say sa...
