Oh my god.

That isn't bringing it back with any extra "catch". That's the same damn "catch" it had in the first place! It's the same "catch" it ALWAYS had. As far as I know, that even holds true for all of the carriers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that people are finally doing the math and explaining it to people, but holy crap it took long enough. Maybe now if people pay any attention, they won't beat up customer service over the "increased price" of the monthly payments (aka loan).

Then again, I bet that instead they'll beat people up over how they were "being ripped off" for years...
Not always. In my past upgrade periods, I did the math every time and renewing the contract was always cheaper than making payments.

There were a number of reasons. One is with the subsidy, you are only paying tax on the subsidized price, not ful...

The thing is if a Sprint customer is still on an everything plan with metered minutes, contracts are better deals. Hopefully with the return of contracts people can keep those plans for longer.

It's simple if you think about.
Rep are giving away the lease or installment to customers
Later after getting the bill, customers are calling the CS
They can see the reports months after months that the new plans are the top of their complain list....

Whoa! Hold The Phone Hot Rod!!!

I have been a Sprint subscriber for YEARS and I have FIVE lines on an Everything Data 1500 plan... that has worked out well especially since they bumped me to UNLIMITED minutes with my already UNLIMITED data...

ALL FIVE subscriptions are up for the NFYHUP does this mean that I will have to change my service plan to get the subsidy pricing?!?!?!?

I know that devices are not "free" and Sprint depends on subscriber commitments to an ongoing MRC to keep this business model sustainable. I just want to make sure that I can do what I have always done and keep what I have maintained as far as my plan..

I'M TOTALLY PISSED

I switched to Sprint a little over 4 years ago when it became apparent that Verizon would not be competitive with Sprint on pricing and that Verizon's data was too expensive. I chose Sprint for their very reasonably priced unlimited family plans. I also signed up on Black Friday so that I could always take advantage of the best deals on a subsidized device.

It worked well out the gate and also on my first upgrade 2 years later. However, this past Cyber Monday I found an awesome deal on BestBuy.com (of all places) for 2 devices with contract renewal from Sprint. But something surrounding Sprint's magical math from the previous contract renewal had my contract being up 2 days later. So, I couldn't get the deal.

I called Sprint to see if...

I don't think you will get something at this point.
I was in the same boat but I insisted that my plan required 2 years contract and I am not doing installments, lease (stupid) or full price. They had to call and get some kind of approvals and gave m...
