I'm disappointed in Tim Cook, Steve Jobs would have followed up the press release by blaming users 'you're charging the phone wrong'....how can Apple maintain Steve's reality distortion field if they won't even follow the proper protocol?

Inconvenienced.

Here's where I get to rant again.

I like to check the battery on my phone every 4-6 months. When I noticed a decrease in the amount of time my phone was holding a charge, I was able to remove it and discovered swelling which is an indication of potential worse scenerios. I went to the store and While out of warranty, I still recieved a free replacement and was in an out of the store within about 5 minutes. No time was wasted during my busy schedule.

How long do sealed battery customers have to wait for this type of repair? And if not repaired, How much to replace the handset?

Heavy gamers and users should be more attracted to the idea of removable batteries due to the wear and abuse.

About 5 minutes if you go to a Genius Bar with an appointment, about 3 days if you mail it in.
Here we go again John. BTW you sir are awesome even though we disagree.

But I still don't care about removable batteries because I don't have my phone more than a year at a time. So I don't get battery issues.

Hopefully

The Turnip-heads at Apple iron the battery issues out with the I-Phone 6. Almost everyone I know is walking around with the charger practically connected to the phone constantly.

New 5s

We had a gentleman come in a few days ago who had this issue and they replaced his old iPhone 5 with a new 5s. He requested the replacement 5 be the same color as his previous one (silver). Not sure if a shortage of older silver models was the cause of him receiving a silver 5s, but I can attest that is what he received.
