T-Mobile to Let Customers Test Drive Network for Free
Test Drive.
Funny that I used this statement two and a half months ago when I tried Tmobile. My contract was up and decided to give tmobile a go.
My analysis is that around city limits, Tmobile performed on par with the likes of Sprint, VZW and AT&T. Once outside the city, the landscape took on a different form. I was barely 13 miles outside the city and couldn't get a signal. Unlike my Sprint phone or work issued Verizon phone. I was really routing for Tmobile. My test drive proved that the coverage was not up to what I needed. I do contend that of not leaving city limits, T-Mobile is a formadible choice. I would be surprised if this results in big numbers as the fine print says they put a $699 hold on your credit card for 7 or more days.
They expect one million takers..let's see..that's a $700 million loan for 10 days or so at no interest..not bad for Apple and Tmobile. Not sure if Apple they can sell the returned phones as new though.

Well stated. I would not go near T-Mobile. Outside a city or a highway just like Sprint, its EDGE or 2G. I would rather test drive a Chevy Chevette.
They're probably refurbs to begin with an will remain refurbs after they are returned. They'll probably get wiped and sent out on another 7 day test drive. It seems like a clever idea to me. It's also impressive that they are using iPhone 5s phones...

That isn't how credit cards work. It's simply a hold. That doesn't mean you are out anything. Sure...I wouldn't sign up for this with a debit card, but with a credit card it isn't a loan. The issuing bank never sees the money and T-Mobile certainly do...

Those iphones are stripped of their processors and put in brand new devices or sold as refurbs. Apple loses very little money on refurbs.
