Windows Mobile Treo Made Official

I'd use a Treo because of Palm OS, but now that seems to be no longer an option, and this affirms it - PalmOS appears to be dead.

Not only did Palm release a "Palm" phone with Windows on it, but they chose to release the phone in 2006. They are going to get crushed by the ppc-6700. 🙄

Palm physical design sense matched with EVDO data and Verizon's unmatched network quality: Priceless. This little device should be a bonafide hit with professionals...look out RIM.

Why is there no specs on this phone? Why no built in wifi? Why is the screen rummored to have less pixels? Why is the camera only 1 M not a min. of 1.3 or higher? Why is the ram so small? Why not take all the good of the HP adn most Windows mobiles and put them into the 700W. Why is it that they don't make thi for real business people instead of for some teeny bopper or college kid or stay at home mom. Make the phone kick ass and stop cheaping it and making it whimpy!!

Ok, so Verizon will be offering 2 new smartphones using the same O/S with similar specs from what I've seen within a few months of each other. I know details are sketchy on both at this point, but has anyone seen a site that compares the 2? Obviously there are keyboard and form factor differences, but I was hoping for a more in-depth comparison. Anyone seen something like that?

As a customer of Verizon from back before they were Airtouch and a user of Windows based programs, this is the best news yet! This unit will be easier to use then the Samsung i730 and will be the biggest boom to the market as far providing more choices for those of us who need a reliable network for our phones and equipment that is easy to use and will provide the programs that our computers have and use. I for one can’t wait for this unit to become available as soon as possible.

Im guessing the reason why its a windows os is beacause windows is user friendly for people who are used to using pcs. And your boy billy gates wants to make some more money. I see other carriers arent getting it until the second quarter usually verizon gets everything last.

I live in Los Angeles which is a pretty big city, West Hollywood to be exact. I used to have Sprint and had top go outside my apartment to make a call. Then I got Verizon and would drop calls everywhere. I then got T-Mobile and I have to say I haven't had any problems. I can make a call from inside my apartment under a wet blanket and order pizza. I never drop a call anywhere in the area. HOWEVER, I am sure this all has a bit to do with the phone models too, it's not always all the fault of the carrier. When I switched I got a better phone. I will say this about the two companies: Sprint's customer service is the worst of any company. They put you on hold forever and play the most annoying music. This is a new trick... I've seen phones announced with features far from being set, but not a name! What if Steve Jobs announced, "The music player on Samsung Flash Memory" instead of the iPod nano? Crazy.
