what a narrow view...

How dare Att, Verizon and Sprint make this decision for customers. I should be able to use my data how I wish and I can with T-Mobile at a REASONABLE price. If you want unlimited data, come to T-Mobile where you don't have to worry about this garbage.
But then I have to worry about being able to have signal or not to use my unlimited data. LOL.

Two Words

DATA CAPS

With all three providers having moved toward, or moving toward data limits and caps on their network, none of these carriers are going to support anything that has the potential to put data on their network in that fashion, but more so, why would they wanna get customers complaining that they downloaded over "WiFi" and found that they went over their data cap - there by forcing the carrier to raise their unrealistic low data allotments?

I mean, think about it.
My thoughts exactly. You only "think" your on Wi-Fi until the bill comes.

Uh what 3 carriers? Verizon and AT&T and who else?

Would have turned off anyway

I would have turned this off anyway. No big deal.
But that should be your choice.
