You'll get LTE in about 10% of a given market.

...On a good day.

I know that in non-Spark areas (where 800 Band 26 LTE is not deployed), I have to be within a 1-2 mile range of a given tower to use LTE. Otherwise, my phone switches back to 3G.

There aren't even enough Band 26 LTE deployments to objectively compare Sprint to the big boys yet.

Sprint has the most underpowered LTE implementation of all the carriers. It's no wonder they are so desperate to acquire T-Mobile.

Given equal cell site placement, channel width, and environmental factors, T-Mobile's Band 4 LTE signal reaches about 30-50% farther than Sprint's Band 25 LTE, with the testing I've done in my market.

Sprint can't even begin to touch Verizon and AT&T with their B25 LTE, it's like comparing a candle to the ...

Only 10%? Is this true? Or is this a fabricated figure? With a perception that your knowledge is more advanced in network science over most on this site, I would expect a more truthful answer from you in this respect.

I have been experiencing the opposite in my city. We recently have been added to the list of 4G LTE markets and I would say that only 10% is left yet to be turned on. Speeds have been very good and the network really has been improved over the old 3G variant. No complaints here.

Unless my iPhone 5 and my LG Viper are defective, my measurements of the coverage are unsatisfactory compared to the others.

From a *square mileage* point of view, the 10% figure is my experience. If you ask me to be generous, I'll say 25%. Just forget about getting any indoor coverage. 100% of our Sprint cell sites have live LTE. But the signal is so fragile, that drop offs to 3G happen way too routinely.

I'm far more impressed by the propagation characteristics and performance of T-Mobile Band 4 LTE. And even they are working with a 5 MHz channel in my market.

It may still be too early to pass judgment on Network Vision since B26 is still not lit up here AFAIK. Once they activate it, and I get a B26 capable device, I will re-...

---"It may still be too early to pass judgment on Network Vision since B26 is still not lit up here"---

So you admit that the network is not yet fully operational and that you acted out prematurely on a network that has roughly 3 more technical stages to complete before fine tuning once all bands are put into effect.

I just wanted to clarify whether I was misreading your comment. While I understand that your city maybe different than mine, the experience in my city seems contrasting to yours. Each week, I seem to notice an improvement to the network.

I'm speaking as a consumer. I don't have any ties to the wireless industry other than being a real world user. As this type of user, I am very pleased with the advancements being made b...

My comments are simply an apple-to-apples comparison of Sprint's B25 LTE network vs. TMobile's B4 network. Strictly discussing both networks that are live and usable today, TMo has a definite performance margin over Sprint's network, in my extensive testing. Both companies have a pretty mature deployment in my market. If you really wanted to argue semantics, we could discuss the up-and-coming B12 lower 700 LTE deployment that TMo will be doing, and they already have the equipment in place in many of those markets. There is still a lot that can happen, but my remarks are strictly speaking of their networks' capabilities here and now.

My post is to quell unnecessary remarks given by misinformed adolescents that frequent these sites. While you say both markets are mature, this would be somewhat pedetermined. Tmo is still evloving as well as Sprint. We are still back to square one that dissing networks during crucial evolving technology is conjectured. I can say Tmobile is an awful carrier due to not having the coverage of Sprint. Thus the reason why have Sprint rather Tmobile. What good is fast data if I can't get it? It is a long, winded argument that I feel negates productivity for the engineers that are actually behing the rollouts. Tmobile is deploying a layer over their existing network just as VZW and AT&T. I would be lying if I said I'm surprised their data(TMO, VZ...

No he is over exaggerating it....

is the launch perfect everywhere??? no not even close...

is it getting better EVERYDAY?? absolutely

Tell you what...go over to this forum and look around...to get into some pretty neat maps and other info, you have to donate some...but it is worth it...
