AT&T Offers T-Mobile Customers Up to $450 to Switch

A recent article mentioned that Verizon is considering making an offer for TMobile. Sounds like an attempt on AT&T part to erode the base of subscribers
nah the fcc/gov wont let that go through with Verizon buying tmobile. Sounds more like att trying hard to keep the slipping top three the only main and since they operate on a lot of the same tech tmobile steals more of there customers then Verizon.
Not the same technology so not gonna happen.

Verizon nearly shyt themselves when ATT tried to buy and helped get it blocked....the same thing will happen is Verizon tries the same routine.
Don't you mean Sprint?

Why such an aggressive move?

I wonder if they are loosing hi paying customers to T-Mobile due to their new no international roaming data fees and lower por minute rates in more than 100 countries?
I am not sure as to why, but this is the kind of move one makes in desperation. It requires a substantial outlay of money (up to $450) for each T-Mobile customer who responds to it, and there are some 30+ million or more of them. Is this AT&T's way ...

Let me get this straight. You're going to bribe me to pay more for less. I don't think so. This might work for a family that uses very little data or an individual line the same.

4 Lines sharing 2GB (laughable I know) would be $155 per month at AT&T. 4 lines with 2.5GB (and no overage) EACH would be $140 at T-Mobile. Make that cap 500MB to keep everything equal and the price is $100, a savings of $55 per month!

A single line user would pay $80 to AT&T for 2GB plus unlimited talk and text vs. $60 to T-Mobile for 2.5GB. Again, at AT&T you'd get a bill if you went over that 2GB!

Why not offer a plan better than the competition instead of trying to get confused customers to port in?
The plan isn't for everyone. The reason why ATT/Verizon are more expensive is because they work..they are more reliable than the next guy.

I live on the eastern seaboard, in NC. Tmobile and Sprint are both aweful here...terrible. I'd rather pay ...

Only if you bring unlimited data back....

If At&t brought back unlimited data then they would be more appealing. I know t-mobile has it's issues but even with capped unlimited data people would be more likely to switch.
Carriers need to realize that the word unlimited means no bill shock and if you are using shared data then that is more of a chance considering you get charged per GB.

Read the fine print

I have been a customer with AT&T since 2010 and I love, ABSOLUTELY LOVE their service. Both customer service and phone service are awesome! Price was not my main concern as I focused my search on the BEST network=speed, reliability and size of network. I highly suggest checking out rootmetrics.com for anyone looking to compare the carriers. You will see that you pay for what you get and for just a little bit more you get speed, reliability and large network!
btw, I just came out of contract and switched to their new plans. I'm saving $15 per line and I have NO CONTRACT!
Oh forgot to mention the fine print. I was just in BestBuy the other day and I walked through their mobile section. I overheard a customer talking about how much fine print was in Verizon and Sprints brochures compared to AT&T. There were pages and pa...

Wow... talk about trying to stick it to them.

Also, let me get this straight... they want you to trade in your device AND bring your own device to activate? Really?
It's either-or. You can trade-in your old device for "UP TO" $250 credit, or get it unlocked and take just the $200 number port-in credit.
either trade your device for up to $250 credit or activate your own, plus they offer $200 per line (I guess you can use that for cancellation fees?) Sounds like a very desperate move to try to erase T-Mobile off the map. I don't care what they offer, ...

AT&T is getting aggressive. I'm reminded of the Family Guy cut-away where Coke puts up an ad that says "Pepsi makes you pee blood"
