Blue Tooth keeps dropping

Hi,

I've had the LG VX-8700 since February 2008. It kept dropping the blue tooth and so I brought the phone into Verizon about two weeks ago and they swapped it. It's happening again. Is it possible that it's the phone? If I remove the blue tooth, and then add it back, it works. However, I noticed that if I am not using the phone and it's idle, the blue tooth drops. As a test, I press the end key, but I don't hear beeps coming from the blue tooth or through the phone. I don't know what to make of this. I check the blue tooth menu and it has the option if I want to disconnect. Is anyone else experiencing this or having issues with this phone?

Thanks,
Veets
I've had my VX-8700 since April, with the exact same problem. Have tried Plantronics earpiece and Motorola visor speaker with same frustrating results. Had it checked at Verizon store; technicians updated the firmware but no improvement. Is Bluetooth ...

sound/call recording

I've been doing some playing with the recorder on my 8700. If I just record something, not in a call - just talking, it does fine. But when I record a phone call, all I get is what the person on the other end is saying, it doesn't record me. Is that the way this is suppose to work? That just seems kinda gay. If anything, I would have expected it to record me but not the person on the other end. Has anybody else used this feature?
I have one more question about this, how do you listen to it on the computer? I downloaded Qualcomm's pure voice program, which I thought would do the trick, but no such luck. Any ideas?

Don't want to sound stupid, but where is the recorder?

Is there any phone which can record both parties' (the caller & called) conversation, without installing any special software. I need to record at least 30 minutes on internal memory or memory card, not less than 8 GB.

I know of a software "Ultima...

Wont hold charge

Just bought this phone on ebay factory refurbished. Its not even activated yet and the battery dies in 4 hours. So I bought a new battery, charged it, and the same thing happened. What is draining a brand new battery like this?

Suddenly "No Service" and no 1x coverage

Halfway through the day last Saturday my phone went into "Searching for Service" and I was unable to place and recieve calls. However, I would very randomly get moments where I could make a call, but it would only last for a minute or so. Then it would cut my call and go back to "Searching for Service."

After a bit of digging I noticed I'm only getting an EVDO signal and not a 1x signal the majority of the time. I get a 1x very rarely and for very brief moments, and during these times I can make calls.

Up until this happened I could make calls pretty much whenever I wanted. My bills are paid and nothing else has changed.

Any ideas? The local Verizon shop wasn't very helpful and just want money to replace the phone.

Thanks!

texting a long text

Is there a way to write a long text, essentially two or more texts in a row to a single person? I can't figure it out and am forced to stop mid-text and start over with a new one. Anyone know how to change this?

Bluetooh Phonebook Transfer?

Just got a new Nissan Altima with bluetooth. I tried to transfer my phonebook, but it would not let me, so I ended up having to manually type in a few contacts into the car.

I'm assuming this is one of the things Verizon has disabled. Am I missing something? Also, would a newer phone like the Venus have this problem?

Thanks
I was able to bluetooth my phone contacts from my Verizon phone VX8700 to a Garmin
did the devices 'pair' in the bluetooth menu?

shutting off the beep with incoming text

Does anyone know of a way to shut off the accompanying beep, when receiving a text? I've set the text to vibrate but it still beeps.
I have to wonder what the point of a vibrate mode is, if you still have a ear-piercing beep that goes along with it.
settings, sound settings, alert sounds, text message, vibrate.

EXTENDED BATTERY

What is your experience with the extended battery?

Would you recommend getting one?
Victor,

I was thinking about getting it, but I decided not to because it would mean that they would have to give me a different cover for the back. It would make it bulky and I like the slim design. Did you ever get the battery? If you did, how ...

Main screen goes black

Has anyone had/heard of this problem? Several times a day, when I open my phone up, my main screen doesn't light up (stays black). I know I still have power because the smaller front screen (blue) will still show the time and be lit up, and I can still talk, dial #'s, etc.

This especially seems to happen when my phone sits in my car during the day or is in my pants pocket for a hour or more. The only thing I can think of its that its something to do with the phone being warm.
Also, when it does work the screen isn't as sharp as normal and pics look like there from an old school phone.

Any ideas?
Thanks,

phone is straight tweaking...help!

So just in the past week...my phone is acting really really weird.

1. "Camera Start Error" every now and then. Not all the time though.

2. Power/End button only works from time to time. It will go a while working fine to cancel out of menus and whatnot, but then will just stop working all of a sudden.

3. When I try to preview ringtones, there is no sound now.

All of this has started in the past week or two. Do these sound like things that can be resolved by updating the phone software? Anything help is much appreciated.

vibrate for certain contacts

does anyone know of a way to make the phone vibrate for certain contacts but ring for others? since this is not an option when selecting different ring tones I am thinking that maybe there is someway a midi ring can make it vibrate? my last phone had this option where is would ring and vibrate at same time for certain ring tones, so I figure it was in the midi code somehow?

Bluetooth Issues

I had both the Jabra and LG bluetooth headset for this phone. My first phone that was 3months old would disconnect the bluetooth and drop the call. I would also have static problems. If I moved more the one foot away from the phone while on my headset, the static was unbearable or the call would drop. I called verizon and they sent me a replacement. I still had some static and distant issues so I replaced my bluetooth to the Jawbone cause my other two were over a year old. I am still having the same static issues. I cant even leave the phone on my clip during a call cause even at that short distance the static overpowers the conversation. Has anyone else had the same problems? Please let me know if anyone has recommendations or a solution be...
