Watch out WiMAX - UMTS

Well Qualcomm confirmed a lack of a roadmap beyond EV-DO and in the process they sent out some warning signals to wimax - umts.

The days of BS are over boys. WiMAX is years (like 3-5) from being mobile if it ever does become mobile and UMTS really dropped the ball on data. WCDMA is a poor data tech and HSDPA is only a little less bad.

Q now has a commercial ready fully mobile OFDMA that works and well (i kind of thought it was ofdm not ofdma but hey). I've used it by the way. Q is now 3-5 years ahead. Flarion was having problems trying to get major customers because the major customers wanted a standard or the backing of someone like...Qualcomm.

Q also gets patents on mobile OFDMA and an opportunity to attempt to sue WiMAX and the ...

That is very true.

Ofdm is a true competitor against wimax and umts/hsdpa.
