I must say...

I love it! I will be geting this form my 9 yr old son. He doesnt need a phone and has a nook hd for a tablet so this would be perfect. I'm thinking this should be eligble as a phone on a family plan. If so 9.99 sounds great! No internet so I can't see it requiring data plan. But all will be revealed soon enough I'm sure. Big win for ATT with this.

Please Come to Sprint.

My Wife and I have been looking for something like this for our 6 and 9 year old granddaughters. No smartphone or internet issues. Just plain, simple, safety and security assuring matters.

If you read the link to the AT&T article on it, it says they got exclusivity rights. Unlikely others will pick this up anytime soon, and no telling what the plans will be (though doubtful it'll be like normal phone plans).

Shut up and take my money!

I'll take a few. They'll make the perfect holiday gift for my bros and sis, maybe they can avoid having to spend so much on an expensive hype phone just to locate and communicate with their kids, which more than likely will end up breaking the darn phone in 2 weeks at most.

Well now, doesn't that look unique...

I doubt it'll change the number of parents looking to give their kids an iPhone, though.
Sadly I think your right.
