That's part of the features of the phone? How does that work?
It supports both cdma and gsm, not something new to Blackberry and some other companies. Now, wonder if the GSM side is locked, I don't know. Nor do I know if VZW did their usually trickery that blocks it from using domestic gsm carriers.

Verizon has long offered many phones with global roaming. These phones include CDMA and LTE for domestic use, plus GSM and WCDMA for overseas.
