The little company that could...

And I mean that literally: Detroit, Dallas, and Tampa are rife with potential. We might be witnessing the birth of a small regional carrier (or multi-regional). When metro first launched in the South Florida area, people constantly conmplained about horrendous service, and the joke was "metroPieceOfSh*t". Well, they certainly shored up coverage and quality issues...and now the service is definitely a viable alternative. I'm interested to see what the company will do in the future.

P.S. Just out of curiosity...does anyone know whether or not a metro customer can roam in other metro service areas? I had originally heard one could not do so.

Hopefully that is the future of wireless. Where you can talk all you want...but one catch, you have to buy your phone. Do away with contracts and the ridiculous ETF fee's, and the phone discounts that go with them.

Metro doesn't have any roaming agreements with anyone. A friend of mine had one of their phones when he lived in Sacremento and he loved it. But anytime he left Sac, his phone was just dead.

People said it could not be done.....Unlimited minutes....no contract, no credit check, no deposit, you cannot get a customer to buy a phone unless it is free......well Metro PCS is PROOF it can be done and a wireless carrier can still make plenty ...
