Personally I have never seen the use for this service. I also find the loud talking and little beepy noise to be extremly annoying, especially in a resturant.
I can see the benifits to enterprise customers, but you would think those intrested would have already turned to Nextel. How many US Cellular customers have been hanging around for the PTT service?

this is a terrible decision anyway. people who has nextel and sprint will probably not leave them to go to us cellular or to anyone else who wants push to talk..

I think we're all missing the point here. I don't think U.S. Cellular launched PTT to blow anybody out of the water...or to be an industry leader in PTT. U.S. Cellular had customers that wanted it, so U.S. Cellular launched it...and it works well.

hey i'm just curious on how think things will go on the customer service side once the merger goes through. i know sprints cs is absolutely horrible, i was an assistant manager there for a while. their cs is constantly rated near the bottom, and churn was around 2.5 last qtr i believe. do you think this will affect nextel customers at all, or are they planning on keeping everything seperate untill they begin to migrate around 2007 or so? just thought i would see your opinon.
Yea, I would agree with you that sprint's customer care is terrible, but it has been improving and the churn numbers will tell you that. (From the web site... Churn was 2.5% this quarter compared to 2.9% reported a year ago and 2.7% in the fourth quar...

Corrections
There are a few things that are incorect in that article. You can actually connect with up to 25 SpeedTalk equiped handsets. Also, the plans mirrior U.S. Cellular's current price plans but cost $10 more for the primary. It is only a $10 verticle feature on select buisness plans.

Also, for speedtalk plans that have multiple phones, the price of a sharetalk line will be going from $15 up to $20. However, for regular voice plans that don't have speedtalk, they will stay $15.
