New naming scheme

I had a customer with a heavy accent call me asking about this. He just couldn't grasp that The One, the One S, and the at&t phone the One X, were different devices. I think I spoke to him for about half an hour trying damn hard to explain to him these are totally separate devices. I didn't get through to him. Anyways, they need a new naming scheme pronto. What will their phone names be like in a few years? The One XXVC+- Type R? Too much to remember for a customer.
This One, That One, The Next One, The One After That, and so on...
So the One X is the predecessor to the One.

I can't blame a marketing guru for this stupid decision because being utterly clueless seems to be a hallmark of a successful marketing executive, but somewhere in that chain of command in HTC there oug...

My next iPhone will not be this phone.

The end of expandable memory?

I should probably get rid of my SII in favor of an SIII and keep it forever. I'm starting to think it's the last good phone with expandable memory. ☚ī¸
Expandable memory causes a lot of headaches for developers. Though I think 16GB phones are a load of bull, 64gb should be fine.
It's really only an issue with high-end phones, where there's intense pressure on the design side. High-end phones are expected to have a sleek, simple design with a unibody design. Slots clutter up the design. Removable back covers add some bulk and ...
64 gigs is plenty of memory. I have half that in my phone and have over 500 songs, tons of pictures and apps and still have two-thirds of it left.

What should I do?

I love the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It is one of the worst phone builds every (super cheap plastic, broken twice so far) but (in my opinion it has the most amazing software (it has 6 or 7 features that I use that most Android don't offer custom to Samsung)).

So now, here come the HTC One, by far one of the most beautiful phones in aluminum (again, just a personal opinion). However, one would have to be crazy to not put a cover/case on it. I always roll my eyes when I see people carrying their Iphone 5's (with an $800 value) without a case. No matter how careful you are, someone will bump you and then it flies away.

So, if I was careful enough (which I am not) to not need a case, I would snap up the HTC One immediately, even though I w...
Everyone has the same decision to make. How much the design is worth will be different for everyone. You may REALLY like the design on the One, but someone else may not. There may be cases that won't hide the design, and you can also choose to become ...
I"m in the EXACT same boat. Paid full price for the Note 2. Love the specs, absolutely hate the plastic build. The size is awesome, but haven't been a big fan of the over saturated colors with Samsung (my opinion) or the horrible plastic build. If...
I am the same exact way. I was debating between the HTC One and the Galaxy S4. Design on the HTC One is hands down the winner in my opinion. I really hated covering up that beautiful design with a case but I know that I am clumsy.

My suggestion for...

What would you do, stay with the Note 2 which has better features (for what I use) or get the cooler looking phone, which won't be so cool once its in a case? Confused.

Why would you buy a phone ...

re: and only slightl better?

😲 Just a slightly better version of the One X+? Slightly longer batter (2300 vs 2100) and better screen (but still not OLED) and processor. Did I miss anything?

And why going backwards with the names- shouldn't this have been the HTC TWO 😎
So it's better in every way, and that's not good enough? 😛

The processor is actually as fast and cutting-edge as it gets right now.

The body is a big selling point. No one has really done all-metal quite like this.

The camera is also radica...

Can Blinkfeed be turned off/set to WiFi only?

I don't have unlimited data... Blinkfeed sounds nice, but I'd like to be able to control its data usage.

Yep. While in Blinkfeed, click on the menu button, settings, Autorefresh. Select WiFI only.

If I can get it...

with it like that with the clear backing....well I still wouldn't want it but I want a phone like that lol
It doesnt actually come in the see through casing, according to other sources anyway. I also read it doesnt support HSPA/WCDMA but Phone Scoop says it does. I guess we'll see.

My Next Phone

This phone is even better than the One X+ I use now. My S3 sits on my desk as a spare, as the One X+ screen and build quality blows it away.

I can't wait for release.
