Kind of sad

It's crazy we've come to a point in technological advancement where someone has developed the next best thing and people say, "Eh, what we have is fast enough." i realize this is an oversimplification, but still true.
actually REV A is a lot better then DV

EV-DV killed by DO

there was no point in EV-DV because the operators want to do VoIP via DO.

The real story here is that operators want a full IP network and an air interface with low latency to do VoIP.

The other story is the fact that Qualcomm has reduced the latency on EV-DO enough so people think VoIP over EV-DO might be doable in the not so distant future.

I beleive latency on the latest EV-DO release (the one sprint will deploy) is sub 100 ms. That is huge compared to the 300 to 500 ms it is with 1xrtt and its going to get better.
I think I get what you're saying, but what exactly do you mean by "low latency." Thanks in advance.

sprint will be doing REV A also which is under 100ms and faster data speeds then REV O.

i cant wait for Wimax and Flarion (ofdm) though. thats going to be fun.
