A 3 year run- and it's getting iOS 6.
3 years of support isn't bad....now if only they would extend that generous policy to other Apple products, like stop cutting off support to Mac OS X versions after only 2 years..
Is it full support though?
Historically, they have excluded key features in updates to previous models (like Siri, and voice-enabled navigation). I've heard this might be a fully-supported update.
... because it was the best iPhone yet... the only one I ever considered going for (but never quite did). Even iOS 5 couldn't cripple it, so now iOS 6 must be offered to those who will unwittingly cripple their old 3GS's as a result. It is a shame, ...

until Verizon drops their prices on the 4S? I would rather have a 4S 16gb for $99 than the new Iphone 5 for $199
Is the price actually set by Verizon? I've always thought the price was set by Apple....only because Apple generally doesn't allow any kind of discounts on anything...even their vaunted 'education discount' is pretty paltry....
My guess is pricing will change as the phones are released, or as the pre-order begins.
