AT&T to Sunset 2G Network by 2017

I find it ironic that AT&T wants to sunset 2G to move people to 3G or 4G, neither of which we have in North Idaho, 2G or Edge is as good as it gets, we can't upgrade to something we don't have! 🙄
They are planning to upgrade all towers to at least 3G before they sunset 2G. So North Idaho will get 3G by 2017 anotherwards.
It's five years away. It's safe to assume that you will have 3G (if not 4G) by then.

Everywhere around me has 3G/4G, AT&T told me they would be upgrading the EDGE tower in July 2012...glad I didn't hold my breath waiting
