And I think this is the sign

The last post about the UFC is definitely the sign that this conversation is over or we've grown tired of debating the same points.

Wow

I think Kirtland and Packard should go head to head with the president and CEO of Verizon in a fight to the death cage match, which would be broadcasted on pay-per-view.

It's a great idea if you think about it. I mean look how much attention this post is getting. I bet every single one of you would pay $59.95 to see that fight. I know I would. 😁

An idea

Does anyone know if it's possible for a BREW developer to tie an application to the ESN in the user's phone? In other words, is it feasible for copyrighted BREW content to be restricted to one particular phone, perhaps by means of some ESN-based authentication during the initial download.

If this is even possible, wouldn't it have been easier for Verizon to engineer this into the v710 (with cooperation from developers), rather than to tweak the phone's Bluetooth implementation?! I know diddly squat about BREW, but this would be an elegant solution to the "problem".

(Also, kudos to the Bluetooth SIG for their strong condemnation of practices like this which do a disservice to the consumer.)
I cant say anything about BREW, but maybe its the same. I have Cingular, and if I buy a ringtone, game, or a wallpaper, it does not let me send the file through MMS or through Bluetooth because it says the file(s) is copyright protected. So I'm sure...

So...

Should I sue Cingular Blue (AWS) because my Nokia 6310i can't transfer MP3 files over Bluetooth? It says it has Bluetooth and it can connect to PCs and Laptops!
If your choice was that phone on AT&T's network, you are not allowed to play with bluetooth. ........

Anyway, Cingular at least has 7 Bluetooth phones with full capabilities. Verizon created so much false demand for the 710 that people were paying ...

well if that phone even supported the MP3 format you would be able to transfer songs without a problem.

Verizon is way BS..and i dont even have them.

Good to see they are getting sued. Verizon misleads customers all day long. On their own website they say under bluetooth that it can be used to connect your phone with another phone for date transfer....but slide the fact that you need to look to see if the phone does it. Then verizon puts out a press release sayN they cant do it due to brew....Why would you even put transfering data as a bluetooth option if its NEVER goin to REALLY be an option???? They would hope you just read line #5 and be done with it...and not read on..to see that number 5 was a lie and that their bluetooth dont offer anything.

Think of this in a noobs standpoint...If you read it can be connected phone to phone but dont get the idea of profile...then you are goin ...

Think thats ridiculous...

I have a friend who use to own a doberman (housebroken, beautiful dog) who was friendly but also a helluva watchdog. A man broke into his house one night, and the dog bit the ish out of him. The burgular sued my friend because the dog bit him and he won that BS case. He won because my friend did not have beware of dog posted on all sides of the house. He had too put his dog down and pay some restitution. What kind of sense does that make. Do I need a "BREAK IN AND I WILL SHOOT YOU" sign on all sides of my house to avoid getting sued?
Must be quite a liberal state and a crappy defendant's lawyer (no offense)... what state was it anyway?

Bend over and take it

Lets start by opening up a fine bottle of the truth.

Maybe (and this is just a maybe) instead of sueing the pants off of any company that doesn't let you have your way; we should take ownership of our idiocy. Perhaps we as customers could as more question or in my experience the right question. Or take a step in the right direction, insert gun, pull trigger! This would not only save the wireless companies money from uneducated phone gurus from calling in about every issue, but it will also save money from all the credits they have to give out for phones.

...but on a serious note, it doesn't matter what company you have service with, as long as you can use the phone 😁
As I've said, there is a long history of bluetooth capable phones that have had all the capabilities. That has made it common knowledge that a bluetooth phone would be able to sync with your computer. It's really not idiocy, it's just what the wireles...

Verizon is the best

According to Consumer Reports.com Verizon has the fewest problems per million customers than any other of the major service providers. They are also rated #1 in 17 out of 17 markets consumer reports polled. All you people say cingular is so much better its not. Thats proof, if you dont believe me buy a subscription to consumer reports.com and look at the reports yourself. In case you think they are old reports they just did them and posted them for Febuary 05.

The truth finally comes out.

I wonder if any one is going to use the excuse that Bluetooth is dangerous anymore.

They finally admit that it has to do with their agreement with BREW. 🤣

Pete, Give Up

Give up, there are a handful of people here telling you are wrong and your opinions are skewed. Can you not realize that you might be wrong? If I had a handful of people telling me something different I might change my idea or opinion.

Just give up, your not going anywhere. You too, get an "A" for effort.
