KX2 vs. LG VX8100

Go with the sure bet..the LG 8000 or 8100

Kyocera is going to be producing this P.O.S. in Mexico, and Verizon is looking for a way to dump their excessive inventory of KX2's.

Speak to anyone in the Wireless Industry. The KX2 is just plain junk. No battery life, weak screen and terrible screen resolution.

Just check EBAY...Users are practically giving this piece of JUNK away.

The local Swap Meet can't even give one away free with the cost of admission.

Kyocera..SHAME..SHAME..SHAME!!!! 😳
NO,NO,NO.LG'S IS THE GARBAGE.KYOCERA KOI IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET.MAYBE NOT WIT VERIZON.BUT IT IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET.STOP MAKING CONCLUSIONS,THEY R NOT DUMPING THEM.THAT IS A BIG LIE
Did lg or motorola pay you to diss this phone. Have you ever owned one?
1) I just took the battery out of my KX2. Lo and behold, it''s made in the USA! 😁
...
No contraversy guys, i have both Kx2 and vx8100
Both are good, but 8100 has little more advantage.
If you just want to use as cellphone then signal quality for both is almost same.
But VX8100 has little more advantage with more feautures like Bluet...

PS.. already called Verizon tech, and kyocera no help what so ever..
I have the same problem. My guess is that Verizon had Kyocera prevent any ringtones from playing except for those that Verizon has digitaly signed and true MIDIs. The chipset in the Koi is capable of MP3 ringtones so I would bet that we can thank Veri...

Losing (dropping) voice tags?

Has anyone else had trouble with the KX2 (KOI) unexpectedly losing voice tags? I often try to call someone using voice recognition, only to find that the phone no longer recognizes his name. I check the voice dial list, and find that they are no longer on it! It lets you re-enter the voice tag, as if it never existed for that person, but a few days later, it or someone else's is gone! Frustrating.
Happens all the time, same as with the old Slider. Usually happens when the battery runs down.

Poor Design, Weak Battery Life & Screen, Bad..Bad..Bad...

Kyocera...may want to take a course in "lessons learned"

Everyone knows in the Wireless industry (TIA) knows that the KX2 is a POS! Bad Screen, poor swivel design, and week battery life. Just like the SE47...tisk..tisk..

Verizon is about to pull this off the market because of the level of customer returns.

Case in point, just check out EBAY and look at everyone trying to get rid of this phone. The consumers are practically giving it away. Retail for this phone is $349.00, but you can pick one up for a mere $100.00 on EBAY.

Users are just fed up with this phone which is an engineering marvel..RIGHT. Kyocera's Management team should be ashamed of themselves thinking that this phone would sell at the consumers expense.

If you w...

Signal Strength Bars

Reading through different post I have noticed people complaining they don’t have as many bars showing as they did on other phones. That is because most phones show 5 bars for maximum. The Kyocera phones only show 4. Even with no bars showing I can make and receive calls in my house.

You can read for yourself at http://support.kyocera-wireless.com/OA_HTML/c sksxvm.jsp?nSetId=33130&nUsePub=NO&jttst0=181 41_23871,23871,-1,0,&jtfm0=&etfm1=&jfn=ZGED64 FC3606BB33BDBD462E24C872F5BBEAFE531BF84FF5BFD 4565C7964069D3AD4FC349CC0870B12AC8325AA46527B 4359

kyocera koi kx2 vs. LG VX7000

i know these are 2 entirely different phones but which one do you think would be the best one to get? i love the idea of the swivel design and i like fip phones too but which one do you think has better picture quality and reception so anyone who has had both of these phones please reply!
The koi would have much better image quality since it's a 1.2 mega pixel camera. I've seen the 7000 and it seems like a nice flip phone but the koi has many more features than it overall, the ability to answer a call when the phone is closed is just ...

Opening it one-handed?

I dealt with many phones, and Kyocera interface is the most intuitive, so I was really looking forward to getting a KX2 to replace my KX414. But couple days ago, I spent some time playing with the phone at a Verizon store, and maybe I am missing something, but opening/closing the phone with a single hand is well, awkward at best - but from these phones, it does not seem to be an issue - maybe there is a trick to doing it? I've read the manual, and looks like the phone is fully usable from closed position - without having to use speaker phone. How does this this work out? Or should I wait for the Slider Remix? Thanks!
It can be done one handed but it takes coordination. To answer a call when the swivel is closed (Only reason I can think of for having to open it 1 handed) you use the jog button on the side to select "answer call" then just hold it up to your ear lik...

The swivel is very easy after a little time.I catch on to stuff pretty fast so it only took me about 15 minutes and I am right handed.I mastered it wit my left hand. It's easy:
