Swype Delivers Beta for Android 4.0

Swype today made good on its promise to provide a version of its software keyboard that works with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Aside from compatibility with Android 4.0, the new Swype beta also offers add-ons with DragonGo, downloadable languages for tablets, and accuracy improvements. The beta is free.

Samsung today announced its lineup of flagship phones for 2022: the Galaxy S22 series. The top-end S22 Ultra sees the biggest changes as it essentially absorbs Samsung's Note series with an integrated S Pen stylus and a more Note-like shape and design, instead of the Contour Cut design of the other models.

Samsung just launched Bixby Marketplace, which lets users add third-party "capsules" to their Bixby Assistant. The Marketplace includes a variety of convenience-enhancing capsules such as Google Maps, Spotify, iHeartRadio, NPR, and Yelp, across categories such as Productivity, Communication, Travel and transportation, Food and drink, Local, Music and audio, Shopping, and Business and finance.

Google today updated its Google Assistant to add "Interpreter Mode", which is designed to enable real-time language translation in 44 languages. Users can activate the feature by saying something like "Hey Google, be my German translator" or "Hey Google, help me speak Spanish".

Google has updated its Maps app with the ability to speak aloud the name and/or address of your destination in the local language when traveling abroad. The feature is designed to be used when hailing a taxi or asking a local for directions.
