AT&T today announced that its Long Term Evolution 4G network is now live in 11 new markets, bringing its total 4G coverage to 26 markets and 74 million Americans. The new markets include: New York City (portions of the metro area), Austin, Chapel Hill, Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose. Customes with LTE-capable devices in these markets will be able to access the faster network, as well as AT&T's HSPA+ network. AT&T said it expects its LTE roll-out to be complete by the end of 2013.

I can't till I get LTE here

Of course, I also can't wait for an LTE iPhone...hoping we see one this year.
Remember, AT&T does not manufacture the iPhone, Apple does. May see LTE when the iPhone 5 comes out - may be this year, or may be 2013 (oops, forgot my Mayan roots, there will not be a 2013!)

Detroit metro?

I can't believe that they still haven't launched in the Detroit metro area. That and Philadelphia are the two largest markets that AT&T has yet to cover with 4GLTE.

Really?

I thought poor old oppressed AT&T couldn't build out LTE unless the big bad gubment let them destroy a competitor.
I see you're still on that...
The additional spectrum from Qualcomm should help with that, but for people on fringes of native coverage or when in partner coverage (T-Mo is largest partner, but there are many smaller companoies too) it may be problematic, or at least delayed.
Nothing like a tasty straw man for breakfast!
