U.S. Cellular Touts Its Repp, Outs Trade-In Program

U.S. Cellular today announced the Samsung Repp, a new Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that will be available for free in the near future. The Repp is a monoblock slab that has three buttons rather than the typical four for controlling core Android functions. Features of the Repp include a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 3-megapixel camera with video capture, and an 800MHz processor. It also offers Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, and 2GB of storage. In addition to the new phone, U.S. Cellular also introduced a new trade-in program that will let customers exchange their old phones and tablets for cash or credit good towards a new device purchase. Customers seeking to trade-in old devices will need to have the appraised, but U.S. Cellular says it will offer up to $150 for devices that are in demand and in good condition.
