Microsoft today announced an update to the mobile Bing application available to the Android and iOS platforms that includes broader support for HTML5. Bing for Mobile is Microsoft's search client for Android and iOS. New features in the HTML5-enriched app include: the ability to look at directory info and mapping data in a split-screen view; access to daily deals through the cooperation of 100 daily deal providers; support for the new Bing video domain; and real-time traffic and dynamic re-routing in the navigation tool. The updated Bing for Mobile application is free and available in the Android Market and iPhone App Store. Microsoft said similar updates are on the way for the BlackBerry and Windows Phone platforms.
