Obama Picks Two for FCC Openings

President Barack Obama has nominated two lawyers, Ajit Varadaraj Pai, a Republican, and Jessica Rosenworcel, a Democrat, to fill two seats on the Federal Communications Commission's board. Pai is expected to fill the post vacated earlier this year by a republican member and Rosenworcel is expected to take commissioner Michael Copps's seat, which must be vacated by the end of the year when his term expires. Both must be approved by the Senate, though with both a republican and a democrat nominated, there are no issues expected to stand in the way of their appointment to the FCC. The FCC has five commissioner posts.
