bootloader backdoor

Can any Commando owner's who get the update let us know if this allows a backdoor to the bootloader in case the phone gets locked and the user can't authenticate gmail? Or if a root user wants to load custom roms.
The stock software has a security "feature" that doesn't allow access to the bootloader through button presses at startup, the way you can with EVERY other android device.
