Intel recently announced that it has signed an agreement to buy TelMap. TelMap provides end-to-end mobile local search, mapping, and navigation services. Intel plans to incorporate TelMap's technology and services into its mobile software offerings, and will also be able to provide AppUp developers with location APIs (application programming interfaces) that draw from TelMap's data. TelMap will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intel. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
