ZTE today launched global sales of its Skate Android smartphone, which was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February. The Skate is a large slab-style phone with a 4.3-inch display, Android 2.3, 800MHz ARM11 processor, quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual/band UMTS, and a 5 megapixel camera. ZTE is rolling the device out on a country-by-country basis in Asia and Europe. ZTE also indicated that it will sell the device in the U.S., though it declined to name a carrier partner.
