Fring Debuts 'Playgrounds' Group Video Chat

Fring today added a new feature to its group video chat product called Playgrounds. Playgrounds appears to be styled after Google+'s Hangouts feature. In Playgrounds, fring users can join an existing four-way video chat or launch their own. The chats are supposed to be based on a topic of the creator's choosing. Fring Playgrounds is available to all fring users from the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android devices. Fring users can still use the normal group video chat function, too.

Instagram has just launched Co-Watching, a new feature that "allows you to view Instagram posts together with your friends over video chat. You can start a video chat by tapping the video chat icon in the Direct inbox or in an existing Direct thread, then view saved, liked and suggested photos/videos by tapping the photo icon in the bottom left corner in an ongoing video chat."

A new app for iOS called Krisp uses machine learning technology to filter out all kinds of background noise on your end while making voice calls. It can completely filter out background sound such as nearby conversations, screaming kids, barking dogs, coffee machines, air conditioners, etc.

This summer, Samsung will launch Samsung Money by SoFi, a new financial product integrated with Samsung Pay. Like Apple Card, Samsung Money can be used as a payment method with the wallet app (Samsung Pay), the account is managed within the wallet app, and the product also includes a physical payment card.
