FCC Commish Warns of Post-Irene Cell Network Outages

Speaking to AllThingsD, Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski warned that while the country's wireless neworks survived the hurricane mostly intact, some regions may still lose access to wireless services as backup batteries at affected sites run dry. The FCC recommends following a series of tips, also posted by AllThingsD, in order to keep network congestion and strain to a minimum.
