Samsung Revamps Android Device Naming Conventions

Samsung today revealed a new system that it will use moving forward to help better identify and categorize its Android devices. The system will include five base categories, each of which will be identified by a single letter.

In addition to these five classes, each can be modified by several different descriptors. Devices including the "Pro" designation will signify smartphones that have physical QWERTY keyboards; the "Plus" designation will signify devices that have been upgraded from previous models; and the "LTE" designation will refer to handsets that include Long Term Evolution 4G on board.

Magic & Wonder?

Odd naming conventions for a company like this. Methinks someone was watching a little too much Zoobilee Zoo... 🤣
Silly names perhaps, but I think clearly defined categories is a good idea, it will help consumers who are overwhelmed by the number of devices find the one that is right for them...
They should have made a phone type Z. I would've bought that.
