WSJ: Sprint to Sell iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 in October

The Wall Street Journal today reports that CDMA operator Sprint will sell both the unannounced iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 in October. The Journal's sources, who it claims are people "familiar with the matter," also indicated that AT&T and Verizon Wireless will sell the iPhone 5, which they expect will be available by mid-October. Of the device itself, the Journal reported that the iPhone 5 would be similar in many respects to the iPhone 4, but is "thinner and lighter with an improved digital camera and a new more sophisticated operating system." The operating system referenced is likely iOS 5, which Apple has said it will introduce this fall. Apple has not confirmed the Journal's report about Sprint, though.

What about T-Mobile?

I know the iPhone 4 is currently capable of being sold on Sprint, right now. CDMA iphone 4 has CDMA/EvDO 850/1900, which sprint can use, since it has the 1900 band.

That means, they will get the "rumored" cheap 8GB iphone 4.

What about T-Mobile? If AT&T doesn't have the exclusive anymore, there is no reason why T-Mobile can't sell it. Apple is capable of putting the AWS band on it, for GSM/EDGE/HSPA+.
Dude did you forget that AT&T is buying out T-Mobile lol network sucks, so Apple doesn't want to waste their time giving their great product to such a crappy Network. 😎

Bye bye unlimited data?

so when will the throttling/limits begin on sprint? 😁
🤣 🤣 🤣
...
I don't know why this would happen. It wasn't the iPhone that caused VZW to go to limited data. 4G caused that. It only caused that to happen on AT&T because they did not anticipate the usage on their network. Their nework wasn't built out to handle i...

That's it?

Thinner, better camera, and better operating system? WHICH, by the way, iOS 5 will almost definitely work with iPhone 4 at least. All this wait for them just making it smaller???

C'mon, I wanna see a load more new features if I'm gonna consider the iPhone 5 for my next phone!
People are expecting a 4 inch screen, more ram, wishful thinking for a 64gb version, retina display or something better than the current one. Camera is already great, so an even better one would be nice.
Dude stop crying 😢 regardless of what new features the phone brings, your behind will be standing in line to get the iPhone 5 😳
You are thinking about whether or not to consider the iphone 5? If you aren't already committed to buying one simply for the fruit logo on the back, then you are not the target demographic.

No LTE = FAIL

Just saying
nobody knows any specifics yet

JUST SAYIN
...
It's not confirmed but Steve Jobs has already gone on record as saying that Apple will not (yet) be adopting 4G at such an early stage of it's life.

In other words, there's nobody to blame for this potential shortcoming except Apple.
...
Applewas weird about 3G also, remember? The first Iphone was EDGE only.
...
Would get a LTE Iphone?
Sprint doesn't even support LTE so this isn't apple's fault. So Unless I'm missing something here, I don't get it 😕

Yippee!!!!

🙂 😁 🤤

I've replaced EVERYTHING PC related in my home with an Apple product of some sort. Sprint has me locked into a retention plan that is too price advantageous for me to leave. NOW, it appears, an iPhone is on the horizon. I cannot be happier!
Apple zombie! Apple zombie!!! Ha,I just had to! 🤣

Go to youtube and look up "Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard"...I would post a link, but I don't have youtube access from this computer.

This report is

lame.

Waiting for Sprint to make this official. I have already had some people ask to be on a waiting list. ugh.. People read the article, there is no facts in there.

"Sprint will also carry the iPhone 4, starting at the same time, one person familiar with the situation said." - Not Sprint

I don't understand this part

"Landing the iPhone is a big win for Sprint, whose results have suffered without being able to sell the trend-setting device."

I'm sorry but honestly since the EVO came out I have seen so so many. I recently have seen more EVO's than Iphones. (Maybe because their free everywhere)

WSJ stick to stocks please and stop jumping the gun.

Remember this is just how I feel and think. Your thoughts may differ.

Sooo

The East Coast had an earthquake today, plus there's a hurricane on the way, and now Sprint may have the Iphone.

Check, check, and check. Yep, it is confirmed the apocalypse has begun! 😈
