Google has purchased a small company called The Dealmap, which makes software for Android and iOS devices. In particular, its application lets users of daily deal services — such as Groupon or LivingSocial — to see the location of all the local deals in their area on a map. Google recently launched its own daily deal service, called Offers. Google Offers is trialling in a handful of markets right now and has yet to expand nationally. Both Google and The Dealmap feel the synergies between their product offerings are a good match. "Google provides the ideal platform to help us accelerate our growth and fulfill our mission," The Dealmap in a prepared statement. Between Android devices and the iPhone, there are already one million users of The Dealmap application. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
