Microsoft Licenses Augmented Reality Tech
Microsoft today entered into an agreement to license augmented reality technology from a company called GeoVector Corporation. The patents licensed by Microsoft also include pointing-based local search and other aspects of spatially aware mobile computing. Terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.

Microsoft recently provided an update to its Windows Phone 7 Connector application for Apple computers. Version 2.01 now includes new features such as syncing with Apple's Aperture program; file drag-and-drop; ringtone transfers; better video conversion; and new support for WP7.5 Marketplace.

Microsoft has provided an update to the status of AT&T's Windows Phone 7 devices and the NoDo update. According to the Windows Phone Blog, the LG Quantum and Samsung Focus have passed the testing phase and are now in the scheduling phase.

Speaking to PCMag, Nokia's chief of smart devices Jo Harlow said that the company plans to release new Windows Phone 7 handsets at a fairly regular pace. "We should be launching new devices in a rhythm that might be every couple of months, every three months, something like that," she said.

In a blog post today, Microsoft provided details on a few previously unannounced new features that will be part of the Mango build of Windows Phone 7. These new features are targeted at business users and add to the WP7 platform's collaboration tools.
