Samsung Dropping One Patent Lawsuit Against Apple

Samsung plans to drop the most recent patent lawsuit it has filed against Apple, according to a report from Bloomberg. Citing Samsung spokesperson Nam Ki Yung, Samsung bagged the litigation it filed this April in California on June 30 "to streamline the legal proceedings." The lawsuit was filed in response to Apple's lawsuit, which claims that Samsung has brazenly copied its smartphone and tablet designs. Though it is dropping the California lawsuit, Samsung is not dropping lawsuits it has filed against Apple in South Korea, Japan, Germany, the U.K., and other countries. "Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property," said Nam in reference to Apple's lawsuit against the South Korean electronics giant.
