Google has updated Maps for the Android platform with changes that make checking in and out of locations less painful. Google has added two new buttons to its Places feature, which will let users check into Latitude venues directly from Places. Users can also add reviews of venues directly from Places. The new version allows users to change the locations tagged for "home" and "work" for better privacy. Last, the new version of Maps has updated the transit station pages with a list of upcoming scheduled departures for different lines, all the transit lines serving the station, and links to nearby transit stations. The update is free and compatible with Android devices running 1.6 Donut and up.
