No Backward Compatibility for BlackBerry OS 7

RIM indicated today that the newly announced BlackBerry OS 7 platform will not be offered to older BlackBerries. It will be available to the Bold 9900/9930 and other future devices.

What future devices if QNX gets released in 2012?

If they are going to pursue QNX as their OS in 2012, don't you think this OS will become null and void w/o much support going forward? Not sure if I want to get stuck with a new 2 year contract when QNX is around the corner which is supposed to support Android Emulation and Flash. 😕

Android is and Blackberry isn't. Surely you see the difference. Many Android devices released at the same time practically have different versions. Here we have someone complaining because a two year old Blackberry will be unable to use an operatin...

This is BS...

They had better roll out a "6.1" or something for the 93**/96**/97**/98** devices. This 1 and a half updates per device is getting very old (the Tour goes from 4.7 to 5, the Bold goes from 5 to 6, etc). RIM needs to wake up, in more ways than one. "That is not fair. You can't mention our lack of updates for an OS/platform that needs it the most of all the major players". Even WebOS switching hands is doing better about updating their OS the RIM/BlackBerry. They better wake the f*ck up. Now...where do I get in line to get this thing? 🙂

You dont realize how slow the processor in some of those older blackberries are. They couldnt handle it, and it would do more harm than good.
