HTC Thunderbolt Wireless Charger Priced by Verizon
Apr 25, 2011, 9:47 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Verizon Wireless recently published some information (since pulled) about the wireless inductive battery cover for the HTC Thunderbolt. The battery cover, which is Qi certified, will allow the Thunderbolt to charge via magnetic induction. LG recently announced a Qi-certified magnetic induction charging pad that Phone Scoop has seen (hands-on below) with Verizon Wireless branding. A number of Verizon Wireless smartphones have the capability to accept wireless inductive charging, including the Thunderbolt. Given the Thunderbolt's poor battery life, this could be a helpful accessory for Thunderbolt owners once it becomes available. Verizon priced the inductive battery cover at $39.99. The LG charging pad will be priced at $69.99.
